Kat Fehr is the founder and creative heart behind Calico Cali Designs, a small woman-owned business based in Central Oregon. A lifelong maker, Kat is passionate about empowering crafters to confidently use their embroidery and sewing machines through fun, approachable designs and hands-on education.
With a background in sewing, longarm quilting, and digitizing since 2010, Kat creates high-quality, affordable embroidery designs tested on the same home-based machines her customers use. She offers everything from in-the-hoop projects and SVG files to lace ornaments and quilt labels—always with a focus on usability and joy.
Through video tutorials, online classes, and in-person events (even cruises!), Kat helps people get creative and finish projects they can be proud of. Her motto? Take the machine out of the box, push the buttons, and do the things!
